Well, it was tough finding the time for this, but very interesting and worthwhile. Just looking at all the potential listed on the "Web 2.0 award winners" list would be a treat during slow times (which is only a remote possibility).
Although I went into most of this kicking and screaming, I am naturally glad to have to at least familiarized myself with wikis, twitters, rss's, blogs etc. I do still think that some of it seems a bit redundant and unneccesary while also realizing that it just may be that my understanding of and comfort with Web 2.0 applications is still quite minimal. Perhaps after I acquire the habit of following a blog or two, I will gain a greater appreciation for it.

Folksonomies??? A little too airy-fairy for me or is it just that I don't get it. I do find del.ic.ious useful though.
The "wiki" explanation was very understandable. When I get enough nerve and time, I would like to add something to the "wiki" libsuccess.org touting AACPL's service to the homebound.
I think it is really great that these online tools are available, especially helpful for our patrons who want to store their documents while on the library computers. I composed a document in Zoho writer and found it very easy to use except for the table feature which will require a bit more "study" when I find time. However, I do doubt that I will feel the need to use these tools for my own needs, but it is nice to be aware of them and their potential usefulness.

I have been using Good Reads to keep a list of what I've been reading, adding commentary when I have the time. It is also useful for listing what looks good for future reading. When I get more time perhaps I will link with some friends . . .

rss - here I come!

Well , with some weeping and gnashing of teeth, and alot of help from one of the bright young'uns in the branch, I have sucessfully set up my rss feed. I can see how advantageous this could be, given enough time, to keep up to date with many of my interests. Workwise, it will be useful for the constant readers' advisory work we do.

Thanks Conan!

step 2 with my plain vanilla blog: good explanation of flickr!
